Make Your Abstract Count
The ICOMS 2027 Abstract Submission Guide provides practical advice on developing your abstract, organizing your findings, avoiding common mistakes, and preparing for submission.
Abstract submission is open to IAOMS members, non-members, and trainees. Industry representatives and sponsors may not submit.
You need an IAOMS account to log in to the submission portal. Conference registration is not required at the time of abstract submission.
Most authors can complete their submission in under 15 minutes once their materials are prepared. Have the following information ready:
Select the scientific theme that best represents your abstract. A secondary theme is optional but strongly recommended to assist with review and program planning.
Important: Authors selecting Theme 12 will be asked to provide a short subtopic description. The Scientific Program Committee may reassign abstracts to another theme when appropriate.
The submission portal will display the appropriate fields based on the abstract type you select. Prepare your abstract using the corresponding section headings below.

On Screen 1, enter your title and select your primary and optional secondary scientific themes.
On Screen 2, confirm the presenting author. If submitting for a colleague, change the presenting author to that individual.
On Screen 3, choose your presentation preference and abstract type, enter the abstract text under the required section headings, add all authors and affiliations, and confirm there are no figures, tables, or references.
Review your information carefully and complete the submission process. You may save a draft and return later, but only completed submissions will be reviewed.
Submitted abstracts will be screened by thematic review panels during April and May 2027. The review considers relevance to oral and maxillofacial surgery, scientific and clinical content, clarity, and whether conclusions are supported by the information presented.
The Scientific Program Committee makes final acceptance decisions.
Authors will receive notification of abstract decisions by June 30, 2027.
Accepted abstracts with a registered presenting author will be published in the IJOMS ICOMS 2027 abstracts supplement.
